Mary Jane Cardwell began the practice of law in Waycross, Georgia in June 1987, after graduating from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Ms. Cardwell has received three degrees from Mercer University, having completed her B.A. in 1977 and her M.Ed. in 1980 prior to her completion of her J.D. in 1987.
Initially, Ms. Cardwell joined the law firm of Kopp, Peavy and Conner, P.C., where she practiced until 1993. Her work included local government law, banking, real estate, probate and collections, among other items. She then joined Robert Little's office where she practiced until 1996. This office served Debtors in Chapters 7 and 13 and some Workers' Compensation, Social Security Disability, and Domestic Relations.
On May 1, 1996, Mary Jane Cardwell opened her office, primarily serving in three areas of Bankruptcy practice - attorney for Debtors in Chapter 13, some creditor work in Chapter 13, and Chapter 7 Panel Trustee for the Southern District Georgia, Waycross Division.
Currently Mary Jane handles Chapter 13 cases, uncontested divorces, wills, probate and she serves as one of the court-appointed Guardian Ad Litems for the Juvenile Court of Ware County and Superior Courts of the Waycross Judicial Circuit.
